I am often surprised at the things we are asked to ship abroad. I was even more surprised to be asked by two different clients to ship sleds for them.
As you all know, we like a challenge and the packing up of the sleds and their freighting was pretty straightforward and the processes were similar. Their destinations could not have been further apart, however.

I was concerned to learn that Western European road transport firms have a shortage of nearly 150,000 qualified drivers and that the UK leads the way with unfulfilled jobs waiting for 52,000 drivers.
Supply chain analyst European Road Freight Transport published a report last month showing that of that 150,000 total, 127,500 jobs are available in just six countries; the UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
In the report it states that Germany has a shortage of 45,000 while France has 20,000 vacancies.

I read recently about an unfortunate driver who was seriously injured when a full pallet landed on him as his truck was being unloaded.
Newport based Freight Movement was fined a total of £84,000 as a result of the incident as the driver, their employee, was hurt when a pallet loaded with 920kg of cardboard packaging toppled onto him from a forklift. He suffered multiple fractures and internal injuries.
