I noted that the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has released data for global air freight markets for January 2018 and they make very encouraging reading.
Demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), rose 8% in January compared with the same time last year. This also showed an increase from the 5.8% annual growth recorded for December 2017.

I know that the freight industry plays a vital role in this country’s economy, delivering goods to construction sites, hospitals, schools and supermarkets across the UK. The general public, however, generally remain unaware of the economic significance and the sheer number of jobs available in the freight sector.
I am pleased to say that this attitude may be changing thanks to a campaign called Fit for the Future, led by the trade newspaper Freight Industry Times.

You'll be amazed what we are asked to freight!
See the image for two different types of sleds that we have recently cased and sent to opposite sides of the world. The first picture shows 2 sleds along with accessories that have been sent to Canada, in preparation for an expedition to the North Pole. As you can see from the photo the sleds are rather large, they are used for transporting equipment and towed behind vehicles.
